These are two different products that share a name, and mixing them up is the single most common reason a family thinks they have been denied. UnitedHealthcare Community Plan is Ohio Medicaid managed care: no premium, and behavioral health is generally covered with little or no out-of-pocket cost. Commercial UnitedHealthcare is coverage bought through an employer or the marketplace, and it comes with deductibles, copays, and its own provider network.

Ohio Medicaid cards say 'UnitedHealthcare Community Plan' and usually carry the Ohio Medicaid logo, while employer coverage typically shows a group number and an employer name. Yes. Telehealth is covered for UnitedHealthcare Community Plan members and works well for teens and adults. For younger children we usually recommend starting in person and moving to telehealth once a relationship is established.
