School-Based Mental Health Services in Central Ohio
The biggest barrier to a child getting therapy is usually logistics: a parent who cannot leave work at 3pm, a car that is not available, an appointment that means missing a full afternoon of class. School-based services remove that barrier by bringing a licensed therapist into the building where the student already is.
What this looks like
Serving Youth Ohio partners with schools across Central Ohio to provide therapy during the school day. A licensed clinician meets with the student on site, in a private space arranged with the school, on a consistent weekly schedule. Sessions are coordinated so that students are not repeatedly pulled from the same class.
Parents and guardians remain fully involved: you consent to services, you are updated on progress, and you can meet with your child's therapist by phone, telehealth, or in person.
For school administrators and counselors
We handle credentialing, documentation, and Medicaid billing directly, so partnering with us does not add administrative load to your building. We coordinate with school counselors, intervention specialists, and IEP teams where appropriate and permitted by the family's release. To discuss a partnership, call (614) 706-6545 or visit our referrals page.
